Biography

Typoe is a math-rock trio from the San Francisco Bay Area featuring Andres Mora on guitar/vocals, Waverly Cook on drums, and David Adamiak on bass. The band writes guitar-heavy songs built around shifting rhythms, bright melodic turns, and vocals that keep the music immediate.

Sitting somewhere between math rock, emo, post-rock, and alternative rock, Typoe leans into odd meters and intricate parts without letting the songs turn into technical exercises. Their sound is tight, spacey, and hook-focused: busy enough for math-rock listeners, but direct enough to connect in any room.

Typoe has released several independent recordings, including NotEvenEP, How I Feel About This Now, Outside, and The Way to Shore, and is currently tracking new material at their local studio. The band has played Bay Area venues including Bottom of the Hill, Brick and Mortar, 924 Gilman, Hotel Utah, The Ivy Room, and The Knockout, sharing bills with local acts across the emo, alternative, punk, and math-rock scenes.

Stage plot & input list

Typoe stage plot, viewed from above Drums upstage centre with a vocal mic. Guitar downstage left of centre with a vocal mic, bass downstage right of centre, bass amp upstage of it. The two guitar cabinets sit at the far left and far right edges of the stage for a wide stereo spread. Three monitor wedges run along the front of the stage. UPSTAGE GTR L cab or DI GTR R cab or DI STEREO — HARD PAN L / R DRUMS VOX 2 BASS AMP cab or DI GUITAR VOX 1 BASS M1 M2 M3 AUDIENCE
Left and right are as the audience sees them. The guitar cabs want to be out at the edges of the stage rather than side by side behind the player — that spread is the whole point of the stereo rig.

Three piece: guitar, bass, drums. Two vocal mics, one at the guitar position and one at the kit.

The guitar rig is stereo and we would rather it stayed stereo — hard pan left and right. If we are using cabs, they go at the far left and far right of the stage rather than side by side behind the player. If that means part of the room hears one side more than the other, that is fine by us.

Guitar and bass are both flexible. DI is easiest: two guitar feeds and one bass feed. Happy to mic cabs instead if you would rather.

Backline: we always bring the guitar rig and usually the bass rig. For drums we would rather plug into a backlined kit and bring our own breakables, but we can bring a full kit if that is easier for you.

Monitors: no special ask. Whatever the room runs is fine.
